My job as a scribe is to assist the doctor with each patient by entering in all the information from the exam, glasses/CTL prescriptions, and entering and sending medication prescriptions. I also assist the doctor with procedures and making sure he gets what he needs. When I am not scribing I verify insurance and schedule appointments. I am motivated by learning new things. Each day I learn something new whether it be medical terminology or medical conditions.

After a three month practicum here at Cascade Eye Associates, I must say I really enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere of the staff. I am very thrilled to be part of this team. My duties on the job include gathering information from patients and performing appropriate tests which help the doctor determine the problem. These tests include OCT, topography, specular microscopy, refractometry and many more. My favorite part of my job is working with the elder population. Although it can be a challenge, they are very friendly and have a ton of stories to share.
